Okay, I’m going to have to be honest. This “suit” isn’t actually a suit. They’re separates bought about two years apart, but they do come from the same brand, and worn together, they look as good as a suit. Weirdly enough, despite having had them for a while, this is the first time I’m wearing them together. The match hadn’t even occurred to me until this new Suit Up Tuesdays & Thursdays we’re trying at work. Lesson of the story? Necessity breeds creativity. After all, I still can’t shop, but staring at my closet flexing my brain how to wear the same things several ways has proven much more fun (and much more economical at that) than staring at it blankly, immediately going into that I-don’t-have-anything-to-wear-I-need-to-shop pitfall most women seem to be so vulnerable to.

Also, neutrals really have a way of expanding the wearability of clothing. It goes without saying, but we still need the occasional reminder that neutrals are so uncomplicated to match.
