I'm going to be hitting two birds with one stone here.

Everybody, and I mean everybody, should have a dependable white t-shirt. It is unparalleled in its simplicity and its ease of wear. You can wear them with many kinds of jeans, shorts, skirt, jackets, et. al. You can accessorize with dainty charms, or large necklaces, or none at all. The white t-shirt is the basic of all basics. Mine I prefer with v-necklines and a more relaxed fit, making the menswear section my default hunting ground.

Then, there's the maxi skirt. I would have gotten in less trouble in high school had I discovered the magic of this piece sooner-- so conservative it covers everything you need covered (Provided, of course, you do not pose like how I did in the last photo.), but also roomy enough to let your legs breathe. Genius! If you love color, hunt for maxis in bold, solid hues and even in different prints. I guarantee you, heads will turn when you wear them no matter how simple the top you're wearing. If you are, however, drawn to minimalism, then one in black will be your default when you want to go maxi. Wear it on casual days with a no-frills top and easy-peasy footwear, or take it to dressier events with a more structured top (I recommend a corset or a bodysuit) and killer heels. Again, genius!
